Re: What is the difference between

Vou pra casa - I'm going to go home (that's what most people say / hear in
Brazil... I'm almost sure it's not correct due to the use of "pra"... if you
want to be 100% sure about its correctness, use "vou à minha casa", "quero ir
à minha casa"... but these are not things you'll hear a native speaker of
Brazilian Portuguese say)

Quero ir pra casa - I want to go home (at the end of a day of work you're tired
and deserve some rest)... Quero ir à casa (correct, but not something you'll
hear on the streets... I believe people will wonder whose house you want to go
to if you say something like that).

"vou ir" should be avoided... It's the same verb (ir) being used twice in its
infinitive (ir) and present tenses.

Things to keep in mind:

"em" is not proper with verbs of movement, unless you're stating the means of
transport you used.

Eu vou NO (the contraction of EM + O) carro... which would otherwise be more
commonly said as "vou de carro"

...

The use of "em" is a common mistake... it's commonly used to substitute 'à'
(a+a) and 'ao' (a+o).

Sentar-se à mesa ('sentar NA mesa', which is what most people actually say,
means to sit on top of the table, not at the table)
Vou à minha casa ('vou NA minha casa' means you probably own a house trailer,
for you can use your home as a means of transport)

Quero ir à casa. Is what I would say, I want to go to the house, or I want

Eu vou ir em casa. -AND- Eu vontade ir em casa. Can I even say "Eu vou ir em
casa."? When I am trying to say I am going to go home or I will go home?.

Thanks,
George
