Cara Rosiléia,
Vc poderia fazer placas de bambu prensado, contudo numa forma bem
artesanal.

Ola Pessoal,

Ha quase 2 meses estou usando o website FLICKR - http://www.flickr.com

Bom aproveito!

1. What is Flickr?

Flickr is the best way to store, sort, search and share your photos online. There is a huge mass of photos in the world, and Flickr provides a way to organize yours, and for you and your friends and family to tell your stories about them.

The best way to learn about it is to upload some photos, explore the site, join some groups and make some friends. There is more information about Flickr and who is responsible on our About Page.

Top2. Will Flickr always be free?

Yes, there will always be a free version of Flickr. It will be limited in certain ways and you get more with your paid subscription, but it's still fun!

We are currently offering an introductory Pro Account special -- Buy yourself (or a friend) an annual Pro Account for US$41.77 and save yourself around 30% from the anticipated annual price of $59.95. That's less than $3.50 a month!

To find out more, visit the upgrade page.

Top3. Can I pay to keep more of my photos on Flickr?

Absolutely! And you can take advantage of our special beta offer, and upgrade to a Pro Account for just US$41.77 a year. Here's what you'll get with a Pro Account:

  • 1 GB monthly upload limit
  • Unlimited storage
  • Unlimited bandwidth
  • Unlimited photosets
  • Permanent archiving of high-resolution original images
  • Ad-free browsing and sharing (**coming soon)

Compare that to what you get with a Free Account:

  • 10 MB monthly upload limit
  • 3 photosets
  • Photostream views limited to the 100 most recent images
  • Storage of smaller (resized) images
For more information, visit our upgrade page.
Top4. How can I purchase a gift account?

There are two ways you can buy a gift account. The first way is to go to the Buy a Pro Account page and click the link "buy a gift subscription for a friend". You can either choose a contact from the drop-down menu or enter a screen name of the person you'd like to buy a gift account for.

The other way to buy a gift account is to select one of your contacts, friends or family members from "Your contacts". Look for the hyperlinked text in the upper right-hand corner -- "Sponsor (user) with a gift Flickr Pro Account". This takes you to a page where you can purchase a gift account for that special someone.

Photos

Top5. How do I upload my photos?

We provide a range of uploading tools to help you get your photos into Flickr, for both Windows and Mac users.

You can send your photos into Flickr via email as well. Everyone is provided with their own 'magic' email addresses: 1) to upload your photos to your Flickr photostream, and 2) to upload your photos to your Flickr photostream AND to post the photo to your blog automatically. Configure your Upload-Via-Email settings here.

You can also use a web form to upload up to six photos at a time from the upload page, if you'd rather not install any of our tools.

Top6. What's this Photostream thingy?

Your photostream is a history of everything you have ever uploaded in Flickr. Depending on their relationship to you, everyone enjoys a different view of your photostream. This is because you can decide whether or not to show your photos to everyone who visits your stream, or single out particular photos that you only want your family or friends to see.

By the way, if you have a free account, your photostream will only display the last 100 photos you have uploaded, 10 per page. If you have a Pro Account, everything is displayed.

Top7. Is there a limit on the number of photos I can have?

No. There is only a limit to how many will display at any one time (the most recent 100 photos in your photostream), and this is only a limit if you have a Free Account.

If you have Free Account, your upload bandwidth is limited to 10 MB per month. You can see how much bandwidth you've used by going to the upload page.

If you upgrade to a Pro Account, all the photos you add to Flickr will be permanently available for your friends and family to see.

Top8. What are the size limits and file types on photos?

Flickr officially supports JPEGs, non-animated GIFs and PNGs. Each photo you upload must be less than 5 MB in size. If you upload more than one image at a time, each photo must be less than 5 MB.

Each photo is compressed and re-sized by Flickr (if necessary), and is available in the following sizes:

  • 75x75 pixels
  • 120 pixels (on the longest side)
  • 240 pixels
  • 500 pixels
  • Large
  • And the original size (if you hold a pro account)

You can access all of these sizes for a photo via the toolbar to the left of the photo ('All sizes') on its individual page.

We also store your high-resolution originals for you if you have a Pro Account, which you (and your friends with Pro Accounts) can download again at anytime. All Pro Account holders can access public photos and download the high-resolution (original) size, unless you specify who has access to the downloadable image.

Top9. Why don't my photos show up on the Everyone's Photos page?

When you sign up for Flickr, your new account is marked as 'pending', until Flickr administrators have reviewed it to make sure you aren't posting offensive images, or junk downloaded from the web. When your account is 'pending' your photos won't show up in public photo lists, like Everyone's Photos, or pages that show all photos tagged with a certain tag (e.g.).

Flickr is a website for you to use to share your photos. If the images you're uploading either (i) aren't photos, or (ii) are images you've 'borrowed', stock photos, celebrity photos, stuff that appears to be copyrighted by someone else, porn or nudity/partial nudity, it's safe to assume that we will probably have marked you as bad; otherwise, your account is in the review queue, and will be attended to shortly.

If you would like to contact us about your account status, feel free.

Top10. How do I make an album of my favorite photos?
It's really easy to collect your favorite shots together using Organizr. (There is more information and some How To videos here.) You can make a set of photos, and sequence them in a certain order if you wish. You can choose one photo in the set to use as the primary photo (this will display around the Flickr site when there's a link to view the set). Each set can have a name and description too. If you have a Free Account, you can have up to three sets. If you upgrade to a Pro Account, you can have many sets as you want.
Top11. Can I send a photo to Flickr from my cameraphone?

Absolutely! You can upload your cameraphone photos to Flickr via your own personal upload-via-email address. You can set this up here.

When you upload photos via email, use the subject line to give your photo a title, and the body of the email to give it a description.

If you want to have your cameraphone pictures show up on an outside weblog, you can do that too. First, set up up the weblog (see above). Then register a special upload-by-email address to post to your blog. Once that's done, photos uploaded to the new address will be blogged automatically. When you post this way, the body of the email will be posted as the photo description, and the subject will become the title when you are auto-blogging.

Top12. Can I access my Flickr photos via my cameraphone's web browser?
Yes, you can. Just visit http://flickr.com/mob/ to access your photos, and read recent comments.
Top13. I noticed that the photos I upload are resized. Can I access my original images?

We do resize your photos to more web-friendly dimensions. Each image has a 75x75 pixel thumbnail, a 120 px, a 240 px, a 500 px and a 1024 px version (that's the length of the longest side), as well as your original file.

When you are viewing an individual photo's page, you will see an 'All sizes' button that links to a page where you can view each of these sizes, and download them if you wish.

If you have a Pro Account, you can access your original image on the 'All sizes' page.

Top14. How do I share my photos with people?

There are several ways...

People who pop by to visit Flickr will be able to see your public photos. Here are some other ways to share:

Top15. I don't want anyone to download my original photos. How do I stop that?

You can set a global preference which controls who can download your original files. Just choose a relationship level that you're comfortable, from "Only Me" to "Anyone". Being global, it affects all your photos, and is combined with your privacy settings.

Here's an example: You publish a photo of an icecream. If you are only sharing that photo with friends, only your friends will see the icecream photo. Let's say you've set your Allow Downloads to "Anyone". This doesn't mean that anyone will be able to download your icecream photo, because only your friends can access it.

Top16. Can I make a badge for my website?

Yes! Flickr supplies a few pages which can help you generate a dynamic badge that you can add to your website (external to Flickr).

You simply choose the display options you wish to use: how many photos, which ones, what size, and whether to display your screen name and buddy icon or not. Then you select whether you'd like to use a styled version of the badge (in a column, with a colored background), or just grab an unstyled version that you can make pretty yourself.

Note: If you choose the unstyled option, you should know that we hold all the photos in an enclosing DIV with the class 'flickrimg'. The images within it also have IDs assigned to them: flickrimg1, flickrimg2, etc.

Top17. What's the Daily Zeitgeist?

The Daily Zeitgeist is a fun little Flash widget that grabs a selection of recent photos to cycle through and pops new ones in as they are uploaded. You can make it display everyone's photos, or just yours, or yours and your friends' photos.

You just choose which photos you'd like to display, and the page will generate a little piece of code (that calls a JavaScript) for you to copy and paste into your web page, or blog template.

(We did a release of the initial version on July 1, and are looking to improve upon that in the near future.)

Top18. Where can I see other people's photos?

All over the place!

Like:

Top19. How do I download a photo?

Select the photo you'd like to download. Click the 'All sizes' icon to the left of the photo. This takes you to another page where you can change the size of the photo before you download it.

Top20. How can I tell when people leave comments?

Any time someone leaves a comment about one of your photos, you will see a little flag on your home page ('You have new comments!'), which points you to a summary page of new comments. If you've clicked through and viewed your new comments, this flag is removed from your home page when you end your session (close your browser).

You can also see a history of all the comments you've made on other people's photos here.

Top21. Can anybody comment on my photos?

Most of the time, yes, unless you say you don't want them to. We recommend that any Flickr user be able to comment on your photos... but you don't have to go that way if you don't want to.

There is a page available in your account area that lets you specify default settings for what you'd like most of the time. You can change this for each individual photo if you wish.

Top22. How do I get the URL of a photo?

Some websites will ask you to provide a URL to a photo (for example, when you add a photo to your Blogger profile).

To use this method, you need to provide the web address (URL) of the image itself, not the address of the web page where the image is being displayed.

Here's an example of a correct URL for a photo:

Here's an example of a incorrect URL for a photo. (It points to the web page where the image is displayed, not the image file itself. You'll notice there's no .jpg on the end.)

(Click on both of these links so you can see the difference...)

To get the URL of the actual image file, first find the photo you want to use. Then you should see an 'All sizes' button on the left-hand side. Select the photo size you want from the available options (square, thumbnail, medium, and large or original if you have permission to access these). If you're looking at one of your own photos, you will see two text fields underneath the photo. The first one contains the URL to the image itself, and the second one contains a snippet of HTML that will produce the photo on your website, with a link back to the photo page here on Flickr. Simply copy and paste the one you're after into your website.

If you're trying to get the URL of an image that you don't own, you may not be able to access the All Sizes page (because the owner isn't allowing downloads of their photo). But, if you can get to the All Sizes page, you can get the URL of a photo by right-clicking on the image size you want, and choosing View Image from the menu. Once the image comes up, just copy and paste the URL from the address bar. Note: This URL should end in .jpg. If it doesn't, you probably aren't viewing the image on its own.

Note: Our Terms of Use dictate that whenever you place an image you're storing on Flickr on an external website, you also need to include a link back to Flickr.

Top23. Can I delete photos from my photostream?

Yes. You can delete photos. Bear in mind that if you have blogged a public photo which is later deleted, that photo will appear as a broken link in your blog.

Top24. What is Organizr and how do I use it?

Organizr is a great way of managing all of your photos. Within Organizr you can browse through your photos, search for photos using titles, descriptions or tags, create a photoset, insert photos into your groups and more.

Browsing photos
Select the Browse tab on the Organizr home page. Click 'Load all your photos'. This displays all photos you have entered into Flickr. Note the timeline on the bottom of the page. You can browse photos from whatever time period you specify -- simply by dragging the white bars to the left or right. You’ll see the dates and number of photos change at the top of the folder.

Searching photos
Now select the Search tab. You have a couple of options here. One is to enter the word or phrase yourself and click 'Search'. All words that you enter in the text box will bring up photos using those tags. Note that using quotes around a phrase does not limit the search to the phrase only. Another option is to select the tags by clicking the boxes next to your tags. If you don’t see all of your tags there, click the link from 'load all your tags'. You can search using all or any of the tags you’ve selected. Just click the Search button to bring up your photo(s).

Creating a photoset
Click 'Create a new set' on the bottom right of the page. Add a title, a description and then drag a photo onto the white square. Drag other photos into the grey area on the right until you’re happy with your set. Click Save and you’ve built a set!

Inserting photos into groups
And inserting photos into your groups is easily accomplished by selecting the 'Your groups' tab. Then just drag and drop a photo into whatever group you choose. In the near future we plan on adding a feature that will allow you to insert entire photo sets into your groups.

Top25. How do I view a slideshow?
You can view a slideshow from Organizr or your photo page. To view your own sets just go to your photo page, and on the left should be the sets you’ve created in Organizr. Click on the set and your entire set will show up as thumbnails. If you’ve been sent a link to a slideshow, click the link to bring up the photo set. Click 'View as slideshow' or 'New window'.

Try mousing over the top or bottom of the frame. The top bar allows you to pause or play your slideshow, go forward or backward, or change the length of time each slide is played. The bottom bar allows you to select a specific photo you’d like to focus on and pause the slideshow automatically.

And here’s a really cool feature: you can 'create' a slideshow of public photos by going to the Tags page and selecting one of the 150 most popular tags. Or you can enter a tag that isn’t one of the most popular by going to 'Search for a different tag'. Whatever text you enter will bring up all public photos that are tagged with that text. For example, if you enter 'flapface', you’ll see all photos tagged that way. Just copy the URL and send a link to your newly created slideshow to anyone.

Top26. How can I copyright my photos?

Creative Commons is a non-profit that offers an alternative to full copyright. There are six default licenses to choose from. You should choose the one that best suits your needs.

It is important to remember that you can only copyright images that you own. This means you can't copyright images that you've taken from somewhere else! Additionally, just because an image does not have a Creative Commons license attached to it doesn't mean that it is public domain.

Top27. I don't want my images to be downloaded, and have set it up that way. How come they're still downloadable?

If you've applied a Creative Commons license to your images, then by default your images are automatically downloadable. If you do not want your images to be downloadable, do not apply a Creative Commons license to all or some of your images.

Blogging

Top28. How do I post photos to my blog?

First you'll have to configure an external blog, (do that here). Alternatively, you can find the blog set up by going to 'Your account' and selecting 'Your blogs', which takes you to the same place. You'll be guided through the set-up process and at the end you can try a test post to make sure everything works.

Once that's done, you can blog any public photo you see on Flickr. When you're looking at a single photo, for example, http://www.flickr.com/photo.gne?id=23754, you'll notice the "Blog This" button next to it.

If you don't see a "Blog This" button, you probably either need to make the photo public (to do that, click the word "private" that appears under the photo on your photos page and to the right of the photo on that photo's individual page), or you need to install Flash. You can check your Flash version here (make sure you have version 6 of higher). If you need to install Flash, it is a free download available from Macromedia.

Click the 'Blog This' button for the photo you want to post. Assuming you've set up your blog, you will be able to post straight away by adding a Title and Body for the post. There's a link to your blog as well so you can check that the entry looks OK.

We currently support the following blogs:
Blogger
Typepad
Movable Type
LiveJournal
Manila
Atom Enabled Blogs
Blogger API Enabled Blogs
Meta Weblog API Enabled Blogs

You can set up as many blogs as you like.

You can also create your own Flickr moblog. When you upload a photo to Flickr via email, and you have at least one blog set up in Flickr, we can post your photo to your blog automatically. Check your settings here.

Top29. How do I start my moblog?

You can send photos straight from your phone to your blog via Flickr. You need to make sure you've set up your blog in Flickr first, and then you need to get yourself a special email address to send your photos to.

Each member of Flickr can get a specific 'Upload2Blog' email address for this - you can set yours up here. Once that's done, photos uploaded to the new address will be blogged automatically, as well as being posted into your Flickr photostream.

When you upload photos via email, use the subject line to give your photo a title, and the body of the email to give it a description. These will be carried over to your blog entry, if you specify this on the set up page above.

Free Account Limits

Top30. How many photos can I upload for free?

When you have a free Flickr account, you can upload 10MB worth of photos each calendar month. This is not a storage limit, but a bandwidth (or throughput) limit. At the end of each calendar month, your bandwidth allowance is reset to zero again.

If you make a mistake when you're uploading (for example uploading the wrong photo) and then delete that photo, it doesn't free up upload space. You are still using some of your bandwidth allowance, so deleting the photo and republishing the correct one still eats into your monthly total. Your upload percentage for the current month can be found on the upload photos page.

You might like to consider either taking photos at a lower resolution to start with, or resizing your photos to a more web-friendly size (like 300KB instead of 5MB), particularly if you know that most of your photos will only be viewed on screen.

Top31. I have a Free Account. Some of my photos aren't showing up. Why?

When you have a Free Account, Flickr limits the number of photos that are displayed for you.

If you have less than 100 photos in your photostream, we will display them all.

If you have more than 100 photos in the system, only the most recent 100 will be displayed.

Your photos are NOT removed from Flickr, only from the list of your photos. If you have blogged a photo and it no longer appears in your list, it will still appear on your blog, and the photo's Flickr page will still work just fine.

If you notice that some of your photos aren't showing up don't panic! You can just upload some fresh ones! Or upgrade to a Pro Account.

Note: We will eventually delete Free Accounts if the user becomes inactive for 90 consecutive days.

Pending Users
Another reason why your photos aren't showing up may be because your account is either marked as pending or bad. See here for more information.

Top32. I have a free trial Pro Account. What happens when the trial elapses?

Imagine you have uploaded 350 photos in a free trial Pro Account frenzy! Your Pro Account expires...now you (and other viewers of your photostream) will only see the most recent 100 photos you published, even though all 350 of those photos will remain on our servers. Your photo sets are treated the same, that is, nothing will be deleted. Free accounts will display up to three photo sets. If you save the URLs of your previously-uploaded (before 100) photos and your extra photosets, you will be able to have access to these by plugging in the URL into your browser.

Top33. Are my photos ever deleted?

If you have a free account, and you don't log in for 45 consecutive days we will begin deleting your photos over 100 (keeping the 100 most recent), but only after a) notifying you, encouraging you to renew your Pro Account, and b) reasonably assuming that you aren't interested in the service anymore, at least interested enough to maintain your account. If you still don't log in after 90 consecutive days, your entire account will be deleted.

While you have a Pro Account, your photos aren't deleted.

Public/Private

Top34. What if I don't want everyone to see my photos?

That's not a problem. Every photo comes with its own privacy settings. You can make a photo available to everyone (That's public, and includes people visiting the site who aren't Flickr members), only make it visible to people who are your friends, just to your family, to both your friends and family, or you can keep an image completely private.

Bear in mind that *you* will always be able to see every image in your own photostream.

You can arrange a default privacy setting for every photo you upload here.

Top35. Can anyone leave a comment?

Most of the time, yes, unless you say you don't want them to. We recommend that any Flickr user be able to comment on your photos... but you don't have to go that way if you don't want to.

There is a page available in your account area which lets you specify default settings for what you'd like most of the time. You can change this for each individual photo if you wish.

Members of the general public who aren't members of Flickr can never comment on your photos.

Top36. So now I've uploaded some of my photos, and made them public. Where do they show up?

All sorts of places!

There is a page which shows you all of the photos uploaded to Flickr:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/

Your photo will also show up for your contacts, in a special list which shows people all photos uploaded by their contacts:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/friends/

Photos on this page will also be governed by your relationships to your contacts, and how you've set privacy on a photo. For example, you upload a photo, and set it to be visible to your family. This means that any contact of yours who you've marked as family will be able to see your photo. Other Flickr members will not.

Top37. Can I make a public photo private again?

Yes. The privacy setting you associate with a photo is completely flexible. You can show or hide any photo anytime you like.

If you make a photo public, other people can put it in their shoebox, the photo can be blogged or you make it part of your personal gallery. So, if you decide to change the level of privacy from public to, say, 'only visible to my family', then be aware that it will be removed from other people's shoeboxes and blog links will break.

Tags

Top38. What are tags?

Tags are like keywords or labels that you can add to a photo to make it easier to find later. You can tag a photo with tags like "catherine yosemite hiking mountain trail" and then later on if you are looking for pictures of Catherine you can just click on that tag and get all photos that have been tagged that way.

You may also have the right to add tags to some of your friends' photos, because the ability to add tags is one of the things which you can allow access to in the privacy settings for your photos.

Here's a list of the 150 most popular tags.

One of our members, Striatic, has posted some great tips on the FlickrCentral discussion board.

Top39. Why don't all the photos with a certain tag show up?

Favorites

Top40. What are favorites?

Favorites are photos by other people that you want to bookmark in Flickr, so they are easy to find later. You can add any photo that you can view to your favorites.

There is no limit on the number of favorites you can have.

Top41. How do I mark a photo as one of my favorites?

When you are looking at a photo's individual page, you will see a button on the left hand side of the photo which reads 'Add to favorites'. Just click on that, and hey! Presto!

Top42. Can I mark my own photos as my favorites?

No. Favorites are just a handy way to make note of photos you like that are published by other people. If you want to collect your own favorite photos together, you might like to make yourself a photoset. Just go to the Organizr, create a new set and add your photos to it.

Top43. Can other people see my favorites?

Yes. When another person looks at your favorites, they will only see all the public photos in your collection, and any photos they uploaded, regardless of the privacy.

Top44. How do I delete a photo from my favorites?

Go to 'Your favorites' and select the photo you'd like to remove. Click 'Out of faves' on the left side.

Contacts

Top45. Why do I need contacts?

Well, you don't *need* contacts, but they are nice to have! When you upload a photo, you can choose to share it with a set of people you know.

Let's say you took some photos at your cousin's wedding, and you would like to share your photos with your family here in Flickr. So, when you upload the photos, you specify that you'd like to share them with your family. Next time a family member looks at your photostream, they will see all the new wedding photos. People who *aren't* family will not be able to see those photos.

Top46. What are the different types of contacts I can make?

You can mark anyone you meet or invite in Flickr as a contact. You can group your contacts into friends, family, or friends and family.

Top47. Is there a limit on the number of contacts I can have?

Yes. You can have up to 500 contacts.

Top48. How do invite my friends into Flickr?

There are a couple of ways to invite your friends or family to share your photos:

Share your photos
When you are looking at your photostream, you will see a link which reads 'Share your Photos'.

This will take you through the process of a) choosing which photos you'd like to share (Public, Friends or Family), b) telling us the email address and name of the people you'd like to invite (up to four) and c) writing a note to the people you're inviting.

We check to see whether the people you are inviting are members of Flickr or not. If they are, we can mark them as a contact, friend or family for you. If the people you're inviting are new to Flickr, they'll receive an email from you with a link to come into Flickr. We also mark them as your contact so you can find each other easily when your new friend arrives!

When you're reviewing a preview of the invitation, you also have the option of inviting the new people into one of your groups if you wish. This is optional.

Invitation to join a group
If you think a friend of yours would be interested in a Flickr group, you can invite them this way too. Just go to the group, and then follow the 'Invite your Friends' link. The process is really similar to sharing your photos.

Top49. Can everyone see my age or my real name or my email address and IM names if I enter them in my profile?

You can set whatever level of privacy you are comfortable with on using the privacy settings page. The default settings are as follows:

Is shown to

Email address Any of your contacts
Instant messaging names Any of your contacts
Real name Anyone
Current city Anyone
Birthday/Age Anyone

The only information we require about you is your email address, and by default this is hidden from people you don't know. Since the other fields aren't required, if you're privacy conscious, just leave these fields blank.

Flickr is a deep application, that means it has something for everyone, and probably some things you don't yet know about. This is a handy guide to help you get the most out of Flickr.

Click on one of these titles to go to that topic:

Do you have a Cameraphone?

Did you know that you can upload photos directly from your cameraphone into Flickr? There is an email address set up for you, just go to this page. Enter the email address into your phone and send! Make sure you have email on your phone plan or it won't work.

If you have a cameraphone AND a blog, you can post directly to your blog from your phone in one easy step. First, set up your blog, then go to the email setup page. Enter the 2nd email address into your phone too.

And another nifty feature is you can even surf Flickr from any web-enabled cell phone or PDA: just go to http://flickr.com/mob/ on the web browser. This works on any XHTML-enabled browser (we recommend Opera, if that is available on your phone). There you can see your latest pictures, your friends' latest pictures, upload from the web interface, leave comments on other people's photos, and even see the latest comments on yours! (Tip: bookmark the upload page for easy access.)

Interested in community and finding great photos?

Look around, see whose photos you like. Check out The Flickr Blog, which has great photos daily, or keep an eye on the page with Everyone's photos. Or better yet, invite your family and friends to see your own photos, so they can leave notes and comments and tags for you, and give you photos from your own life. Having friends, family and favorites on Flickr is probably the thing that will make the biggest difference for you!

You can also create public or private groups. Private groups are good for small groups of friends, or for events such as weddings. You can post photos to a group photo pool so everyone can see them in one place! You can also join an already existing group on every topic from Cooking to Philosophy.Another way to find photos is by surfing tags such as me or selfportrait. Or look for specific tags such as neon or sunset. You can also surf the most popular tags on Flickr, or run a search there for any tag you like.

Do you have a Blog?

Flickr and blogs go together like Captain and Tennille. You can post any photo in Flickr - even if it's not your own! - to your blog, and add commentary about it. First, set up your blog. It can be LiveJournal, Blogger, Moveable Type, Typepad or whatever. Make sure you like the layout of the post. If you know HTML you can tweak it to make it look the way you want. Then look for the little BlogThis button on the left side of the photo on the photo's own page. Click it and away you go!

Like we said up above, if you have a cameraphone AND a blog, you can post directly to your blog from your phone in one easy step. If you haven't already, set up your blog, then go to the email setup page. Enter the 2nd email address into your phone too.

You can also add one of those cool photo strips to the side of your blog. Just design your badge, and cut and paste the code to your blog template! And another cool thing you can add to your blog is the Flickr Zeitgeist. Cut and paste to your blog. You can even set it up so it just shows your pictures and those of your Flickr contacts. Excellent, no?

Organize your Photos!

When you upload photos, there is a little box where you can enter Tags. There is also a space to enter tags on the right on each photo page and you can add tags when using Organizr. Why use tags? Tags make it easy for you to find your photos later on when you have tons and tons of photos. Just type some words relevant to the picture, with spaces in between, like "sky park dog blue grass green".

The other great thing about tags is that it helps other people find your photos too! Check out these great tags:

Surfing tags is one of our favorite pastimes here at Flickr. People even use them to label their own special projects:

You can see a representation of the most popular tags in the system by visiting http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/ - the size of the link represents the number of photos tagged with that word. A similar visualization can be produced for your own photos and tags. Just hit your photos page and click the 'your tags' link. And you can also get RSS feeds for individual tags. See below for more details.

Having a wedding, reunion or event?

Want to merge different people's photos together from your party or event? A recent wedding gathered more than 400 photos from their guests in less than two weeks. It's a great way to share. Here's how you do it:

  1. Form a group for your event
  2. From the group page, invite the event's attendees. This will assure that they are made your contacts, and are automatically joined to the group.
  3. Post the following instructions to the group page:

How to upload photos to this group:
    1. Upload the photos to your own Flickr photostream. Flickr gives you lots of ways to do this: www.flickr.com/tools.
    2. Go to the Organizr, find your group under the "group" tab on the right side, open it, and then drag and drop your photos into the window.

Voila! You're done.

Securely Share Private Photos

When you upload photos, you can check the box that says "Public" or "Private". Private photos are completely hidden from everyone except you, but if you want to be visible to your family or friends, check those boxes. You can change the privacy of a photo at any time by clicking on the red (for private) or green (for public) button on the photo. Another thing you can do is set up a private group and invite your friends and family to join it. If you invite them from the group's page, they are automatically made a member. You can add photos to the group's photo pool that every member of the group can see, and if you launch FlickrLive, you can have a private chat channel in which to share photos.

How to use RSS and Atom Feeds

RSS is a way of getting your photos to the people who want to see them. They "subscribe" to your feed and get all the photos you publish, in whatever way they want to view them. If you're not familiar with what it is check out the BBC's handy What is RSS? page.

Flickr provides RSS feeds for:

  • Everyone's photostream
  • Group & forum discussions
  • Specific tags

Click on the link at the bottom right of the page you want to subscribe to and add it to your favorite RSS reader. Some RSS readers we recommend are Newsgator and FeedDemon (for Windows users), NetNewsWire and Shrook (for Mac users), and Bloglines (which is free and operates in your web browser).

Hope this helps you make the most of your Flickr experience! Hooray!
